Things to Do

The area around Brunswick Crossing is full of history and things to do. History buffs can head to Sharpsburg for the Antietam National Battlefield to learn more about the Battle of Antietam. Historic Harper Ferry is full of rich opportunities to connect with the area’s past. The Harpers Ferry National Historical Park is home to numerous 19th-century buildings, John Brown’s Fort, and a Civil War museum.

Brunswick Crossing is adjacent to the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal, which runs along the Potomac River. A path follows the entire 185-mile canal and extends from Georgetown and Cumberland, Maryland. Residents can walk, bike, or run along the gorgeous waterway. Harper’s Ferry is nearby and is a pleasant bike ride to explore the history of the town. The Potomac River offers the opportunity for fishing, swimming, and paddling. Each year the Brunswick Railroad Days comes to town. This festival brings two days of food, drink, live music, games, and crafts to Brunswick and is anticipated by locals every year.  Be sure to check out the Veteran’s Day Parade event too – the streets are lined with spectators!
